An eclectic merging of influences from acoustic rock, folk and Americana, to jazz and blues, The Little Brother Band has been playing throughout western B.C. for over 8 years. Their name comes from a sit-in gig that lead singer/ rhythm guitarist Wes Reamsbottom played with his older brother, Greg, during which he garnered the nickname, “Little Brother.” The brother connection was reinforced in 2005 when Davis Friesen (bass), brother of Tyler (drums), joined the band. Rounding out the lineup are Dan Myers (vocals, lead guitar) and Kelly McQuillan (keyboards, tenor saxophone, and vocals). The band released their second full-length album, “Thicker Than Water,” in May, 2010. A typical band performance includes bluesy guitar lines, funky grooves, and searing sax solos to complement the rootsy melodies. Their Inspiration comes from myriad artists, including Ray Lamontage, Amos Lee, Van Morrison, David Gray, Ryan Adams, The Counting Crows, and The Band.
